Overview / History
Mission Statement: Oakwood Terrace is dedicated to consistently encouraging the education of all students for a successful future.
School Information: Oakwood Terrace Elementary serves over 800 students and their families. As a School Wide Title I campus, we offer several innovative opportunities in order to meet the unique and diverse needs of our students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. In addition to our 50 classroom teachers, we also have a Language Acquisition Coach, Instructional Specialists, Speech Therapists, Dyslexia Specialists, a GT specialist, and a Conscious Discipline CARE Room. We also provide Art, Music, Physical Education, and Library experiences for every Oakwood Terrace Student. Collaboration and teamwork enable us to efficiently serve the Oakwood Terrace community. Our families make Oakwood Terrace what it truly is - amazing! Our parents, PTA, and community are the backbone of what we do.
As our students leave Oakwood Terrace for Junior High and eventually High School, we want them to possess the characteristics that will enable them to live and work meaningfully and successfully in school, society, and the workplace. It is our goal that each Oakwood Terrace student develops the following skills:
- Effective Communication
- Competent Problem-Solving
- Self-Directed Learning
- Responsibility
